Direct Mode will not work.

Postby Chickenman » Thu Aug 09, 2012 8:15 pm

I have Eye-Fi Mobile X2 in a Olympus TG-320. I am trying to transfer photos to my Lenovo ThinkPad Laptop with Windows 7. The files are transferred through my router just fine. When I turn off my router my Camera looks like its transmitting, and the Laptop connects to the card; but no files are tranfered. The laptop doesn't even stay connected long. Is there a setting I'm missing? Thanks.

Hi Chickenman,

Please check your firewall and make sure Eye-Fi Helper is allowed on both private and public networks.

Since the Direct Mode network has no internet connection, Windows designates it a "public" network, and usually your firewall exception will only be for private networks. If that doesn't help, try disabling your firewall, or restart Eye-Fi Helper.

Thanks!

Hi,

Same problem, but with the transfer to my ipad.

I allowed transfer on my ipad, the transfer works well at home on my wifi network, but elsewhere, when i don't have wifi available, the transfer doesn't work.

Any help ?

Thanks

Ah, yes, I own a sandisk 8gb card

EDIT : NEVER MIND, I SEARCH AND FIND THE ANSWER

Same here. See http://forums.eye.fi/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7050&p=27090#p27090

I can only download when within my home network. There is no option to add another network without logging in to Eye-Fi centre which I cannot do when out and about.
