Eye-Fi to Iphone direct??!?

Postby Ang » Tue Oct 12, 2010 9:37 am

Hi all!!
Still could not stopped being amazed by what this little product can do!!! Just waiting for my daily cam:Ricoh GRD3 to be cleared before i plunged into this    :
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2839

Yes i knew my subject was discussed in several threads and i did read a little across and it seems that the Eye Fi could not connect to my iphone for image trAnsfer because my tiny innocent iphone could not support adhoc networking??

Sorry, i am not too technically inclined but it just surprised me,
1. It is stated on the website here that the Eye Fi Pro X2 card support Ad hoc Transfer
2. For my job we had a 5Dmk2 on WFT-E4 IID and we tried connecting to Shuttersnitch on the IPhone4, Camera to Iphone! direct transfer wo labtop wo router, no issues! (ok, we talking purely connectivity issues here and not on range issues beyond walls etc)

So for that matter, i dun see why if my DigiCam with the EyeFi now cannot connects to the Shuttersnitch on the iPhone(Camera to Iphone!), it becomes my Iphone issues??
I mean if it is well that the Eye-fi is not doing something as part of the WFT-E4 II had done for the wireless i can fully accept that as it is easily 5 times more ex and prehaps 50 times heavier as well.
But hey it couldn't be just my iphone fault right?? And since it is written that Pro X2 SUPPORTS adhoc transfer then it should work right?? prehaps an interesting point to start off is how does the WFT links to the iphone then?

I got this website where we got others linking up well on adhoc networking from canon to iphone/ipad:
http://2ndnature.thebrew.dk/shuttersnit ... rt=40#p344

I just hope that this could be look into, i would have loved to bring my ricoh and my iphone, it will be an amazingly small travell package!!Reading from the forums i am sure more then me agreed!!
Thanks EyeFi!
