Linking wifi on iPad

Postby Spikeydevilbandit on Sat Jun 30, 2012 12:52 pm

Hi.
I've just set up my eye fi card to work with my iPad. When I pick the eye-fi wifi address all I get is a spinning wheel and it doesn't seem to lock on.
When I select any other wifi network the iPad shows a tick to conrim it's locked onto that particular network. Pictures do transfer but I'm concerned that the card will lock onto another network.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

the ipad does not show the tic because the eyefi card does not offer any internet connectivity, this is normal behavior for the ipad.

the eyefi card will only deploy direct mode if no other known network or hotspot (if you have this option) is available, so unless you move into range of a known network the ipad should remain connected until transfers are complete, but as soon as this happens the eyefi card will drop its wifi connection until you take more photos / videos (this is done to conserve battery power in the camera)

I am hoping someone can get back to me as a matter of urgency.
I have recently bought the pro ver of the card and had it all set up and working just fine.
I have come on holiday with the intention of using it to send pics direct to my iPad and send them on.
I can understand it not working via the hotel network with having to set it up on the card with the hotel wifi settings however why will it not transfer in Direct mode to my iPad anymore?
Please can someone help otherwise I will have to wait to get home before I can transfer which defeats the hole purpose of buying this card.

Thanks for that. The eye fi card is currently only synced to my iPad. Should it automatically sync to it as mine isn't. I have to go into settings and actually chosse eye fi for images to be transferred.
Thanks again.

this is an issue with the iPad and iPhone i believe the app has to be running in the foreground in order for it to be able to receive files.

also the ipad/iphone is picky about network connections i believe it prefers to find a wireless signal that offers internet access over the eyefi card. i know its an issue that causes a lot of frustration for ipad / iphone users but its how apple intended it to work i guess
