multiple identical SSID's

Postby marnik » Sat Aug 18, 2012 6:59 am

Hi,

I have 2 AP's with the same SSID, same password (WPA2), on different channels because 1 AP is not enough to cover my home. When I put the card in the computer, and I go to the menu to select what SSID's it can use, the eye-fi center software lists the 2 identical SSID's, however, there is no way of telling them apart because only the SSID is listed (not the channel).

I'm unable to let the card know both networks, as they overwrite eachother. I'm not sure, but it looks like it cannot connect because it gets confused. Help?

Somehow, it looks like it managed to connect to my SSID "marnik", but it keeps "probing for listener", my PC is on, eye-fi center is running, connected to the same network. Any hints?

check your firewall / security settings there are known issues with certain security programs that can be worked around.

Thanks, but that is not the problem. Windows firewall is turned off, and there's no antivirus or anything like that. The problem is 2 identical SSID's, I think the card gets confused. It's a bug, where can I file these? I can provide more info of course.

Hello,

I also have the same SSID on multiple channels. Are the settings channel specific?
