The solution is to use the App as a Hotspot and not the eye-fi itself. It should not be that complicated. ...I think
I can make this work by using 2 iDevices. One to act as a hotspot and the other to "wake up the hotspot"
I think I should post a video or something!
Can someone explain me how to know what is my card firmware?!

you can see the firmware at the top of the log. I just tried setting my phone up (not an iPhone though) in hotspot mode. The iPad could pick it up and browse the web fine but the eyefi card wouldnt connect to it so i couldnt add the network in the eyefi centre. Would love to know how you did it as that would be a solution at least.

It looks like the Eye-Fi card had a lot of trouble connecting to your router, which could be a symptom of the problems we've been seeing with the D800. Once the card finally connected (when the card was in your computer), it reached the Eye-Fi software but it was not set to receive your photos. Please make sure your computer is set to receive your photo uploads:
http://support.eye.fi/cards/media/save-to-computer/
After this, try moving the camera closer to the router and turning it back on with the card inserted. If this still doesn't help, let us know. I hope we'll be able to solve this for you, but the D800 issues are still being looked into.
Thanks!

I've tried both connecting to a wifi and direct mode to ipad3 and iphone4. Neither will connect. In direct mode, it's wifi hotspot name won't appear on the iPad, iPhone, or wifi enabled computer. It will momentarily if I shoot continuously, but goes away after a few seconds.
I have the Eye-Fi mode turned on in the camera. I can take the card out and put it in my wife's Nikon D5100 or my GoPro and it works like a charm. There have been others on another forum that have had success with it supposedly. I've tried all image modes (raw+jpeg, and jpeg only).
I am also well within range of the wif router and iPad/iPhone (less than 1-2').
Thanks in advance. I'm pulling my hair out...
sevenatenine wrote:I am having trouble, I saw this forum and that the trouble seemed to be with direct mode, so I bought an aluratek router. I set it up to connect to my ipad, and then connected it to the internet to set up the router on the eyefi card which worked, instantly the card transferred the files which were on the card to the eyefi app. The problem I am having is that once i disconnected the router from the internet, and tried to send files from the d800 over the network i got nothing. So now i plugged the eyefi back into the card reader to retrieve the log and it sends files, so the configuration of the card and router appears to be correct but the piece of the puzzle that seems to be missing is the d800. I've attached the log, let me know if there is anything left to try, or if i've wasted an extra 80 dollars for a router on top of the price of the card trying to create a workaround to the d800+direct mode issue.
sevenatenine wrote:Any word on mine? I've been sitting within about 2 feet of the router and have experimented with turning the camera on and off as well as taking the card out and putting it back in. In my case I don't want files to transfer to the computer but I want it to transfer to an iPad. Which It does when plugged into the card reader. The computer with the card reader is on a totally different network then the iPad, so the card is ignoring the computer or should be.

My friend's D800 who has a firmware of A:1.00/B:1.01/L: 1.004 can work fine with Eye-fi Direct mode
but the latest firmware A:1.00/B:1.01/L:1.006 could not work with the Eye-fi Direct mode.

The l is lens correction
Do you mean b 1.0 ? The b 1.01 upgrade was supposed to fix some compatibility issues with sd cards sonitnwould not surprise me if it broke the eyefi card direct mode
It is just odd that my Nikon d40 works great with the eyefi and the d800 which is designed for eyefi doesn't
