After using the 8GB Explore X2 with no problems for a month in my Canon S3 IS, I was greeted with the "Memory Card Error" message today. Unlike many of you, I lost no pictures because, up until today, they have uploaded onto this Windows 7 machine with no problems. I loved this card! But now, as I have read here, the card is not recognized by my computer. I sent a note to support as was suggested. But, what have you done to get the card to work again? I don't need to recover any pictures. I cannot do anything with the card as my computer cannot see it. On the Canon, "Format" is grayed-out and will not function. I guess it thinks it is a locked card (?) Those of you who contacted Support, what did they say?

Hi !

You can use a data recovery software to recover your lost data from memory card. One i have used is Kernel for memory card recovery software that ecovers all possible data from the corrupt or inaccessible memory card. You can find it from http://www.memorycardrecovery.org/

Thanks

Same problem here I have the Eye-Fi Connect X2 4GB and I turned on my Nikon and noticed an error message stating that my card was damaged. I contacted Customer Support and was told I need to update the firmware. But I told the agent I can't access the card, I can't read or write to it and I can't even reformat it. This is the worst $48 I ever spent, I lost all the photos because I wasn't near my PC to upload them. Thanks a lot Eye-Fi.

I am EXTREMELY upset and disappointed. I bought an eye-fi memory explore and have used a it a couple times. I was at an event this Saturday when after taking a few photos the card said unreadable. I have tried the card in several other devices and they all say 'card error, card unreadable or corrupt'! This is an event that I can never re-create! I NEED and WANT these pictures! In reading peoples old posts and complaints, have you guys figured out an answer to the issue?!
How can your cards be so poorly built?!

im sorry you have encountered an error with your eyefi card. this problem is not as widespread as it would appear and most times is caused by not using the supplied card reader. although in your case i understand it was in your camera when the error occurred. you did not say what camera you were using?

first of all you need to try and recover your photos. does the card get recognised in a pc or mac? if it does you can use some card recovery software at home if it does not then the only way to recover photos is to send it away to a specialised recovery firm.

http://support.eye.fi/cards/media/data- ... -fi-cards/

then when you hopefully recover your photos you need to speak to eyefi customer support to see if you can arrange for the card to be replaced.
