My Eye-Fi card (8GB ProX2) worked okay for the first month or so, but then it started giving me "Card Error" and "Write Error" messages in camera (an Olympus E-PL1). If I re-format the card in camera I can then take a small number (from 0 to 10) shots before the issue recurs. In searching this forum, this seems to be a fairly common issue with Olympus micro Four Thirds cameras. This post documents a similar issue with an Olympus E-P3
. An Eye-Fi engineer recommends upgrading to the latest firmware in that string. I have downloaded and installed the latest firmware on my card (5.008 IIRC), and this does not appear to have resolved my issue -- if anything the issue has gotten worse. The original poster has not replied in the thread as to whether the firmware update resolved his issue.
A user with an Olympus E-PM1
and two users with Olympus E-PM5s (here
) have reported similar issues and as yet none of these cases appears to have been resolved.
Although it appears this or a similar issue may be impacting others, the number of Olympus users reporting similar errors is striking. What is is about Eye-Fi that doesn't work well with Olympus?
I'm attaching a card log in case an engineer happens across my post (although it doesn't appear the others who've reported issues have gotten much traction.
