Anyone Tried Eye-Fi with WiFiAn Router?

Postby Cruiseman on Sat Jun 02, 2012 2:29 pm

I found this WiFiAN router and was wondering if anyone had tried using the Eye-Fi with it. This would be a great solution when in an area with no Wi-Fi service.

Hi,

I'm not shure if I understand. Wireless LAN has an A-Band and an N-Band (also as b and g; see http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/WLAN for details). Normally (?!) you get b/g/n and "better" Ones also has the A-Band. I'n not shure if the PRO X2 Modells will work in the A-Band (I see nothing in the Tech Specs).

If you have no public Hotspots (I assume you mean that with "Wi-Fi") then you have to use a UMTS/GSM Personall-Hotspot e.g. Linksys WLAN Router with buildIn UMTS-Card Slot.
HTH.

Looking at the Web site for the device, I can't see why this wouldn't work for direct transfer to a PC.

Using our Direct Mode feature, Eye-Fi X2 cards can send media files directly to a supported laptop or mobile device (Windows/Mac/iOS/Android) without a wi-fi network needed. The card creates its own network. http://www.eye.fi/how-it-works/features/direct-mode

Maybe the card can connect to this WiFiAn device, but if all you need is to send files directly to your device then it is probably not necessary.
