Postby Spikeydevilbandit » Sun Jul 01, 2012 2:22 pm

When I place my eye fi card in to my Mac it come up as "found eye fi card" but when I go into setting it says eye fi card not found. IS this normal or do I have a dodgy card? Cheers. Steve

are you using the supplied card reader or the card slot on the mac

there have been issues with inbuilt card readers on macs not supplying enough power to run the eyefi card or the mac shutting the card slot down in order to conserve battery power.

it is also possible you have a faulty card reader post the revision number here and one of the eyefiers will check it for you

I've tried using both the card reader and the SD slot in the side of the Mac. In both cases the issue is the same.

The only details I can find on the reader are this: EYEFI-RDR-REV-V and there is was looks like to be VCI in a small box. No serial numbers or anything lke that though!!

its possible you have a faulty card reader one of the eyefiers will probably need to look at this for you but they are very good and will find a solution for you for reference i dont think the rev-v card reader was a problem generally , thats the one i have and my daughter has

hi Spikeydevilbandit,

If you're still having the same issue, please restart your Mac and connect the card again, by connecting the card to the Eye-Fi reader, direct to your iMac's USB port (and not a USB hub or keyboard). After the "Found Eye-Fi card" / "Initializing Eye-Fi Card" message, there should be one more, "Found Eye-Fi Card" / "Click here to open Eye-Fi Center". If you receive the "Failed to initialize" message, it sounds like something went wrong, and here are some more steps you can try.
http://support.eye.fi/software/problem/ ... nitialize/

If the card seems to initialize but Eye-Fi Center still says the card isn't plugged in, please make sure that both Eye-Fi Helper and Eye-Fi Center are version 3.4. Click the Eye-Fi Helper icon in your menu bar, and the Eye-Fi Center menu at the top left of your screen, and choose About.

If this doesn't help, then yes please contact us directly and we'll be happy to help. Let us know the steps you've tried so far and the results.

Thanks!

I have turned off syphos security and now all seems to be working OK. One down two more to go!

I found the same problems (card failed to initialize), but managed to solve it by removing the card, reinstalling the software from the WEBSITE not the preinstalled version, and then plugging in the card before starting the EyeFi Helper.

Seems rather faffy, but it's worked this time.
