card not formatted error

have been using this card for 2 months without a problem, i used it in my canon 1d mkII to shoot a family reunion. when i went to download the card no computer would reconize it. when i finally got one computer to reconize it, it stated the card needed a firmware update. it did not load sucessfully, now the card is not reconized in the camers or when using the card reader on the computer.. when inserted in the camers it says card not formatted.. card contains 200+ images

We're very sorry to hear that your card isn't being recognized properly. It looks like we're working with you via email, so I'll leave you in the other agent's hands. One thing I would recommend, if you haven't tried it, is that if you can access the photos in any way - in this case in the camera - then connect the camera via USB and see if you can recover the photos that way...
