Release Notes v1.2.3 - Android

Postby heuven » Sun Jun 10, 2012 4:30 am

Hi,

I having quite a bit of trouble with Android (Galaxy S2), Eye-Fi and Xerox Mobile Scanner.

1) First of all, I see release notes for different versions of the Android app. But not for the version I downloaded. I have v1.2.3 says the About box. Can you make release notes available for this version as well?

2) When I am connected via WiFi with the Eye-Fi card, and I go to Settings | Eye-Fi device settings in the app it says "We are having difficulty connecting to the Eye-Fi servers. Please check your network connection to access this functionality.

I have the impression that if I am in situation 2), that the mobile scanner can not transmit it's PDF to the Samsung. On the other hand if I am connected to Eye-Fi Wifi it will be clear the Samsung is trying that connection to access the Eye-Fi servers and not the 3G connection provided via the SIM card (hopefully there is a fallback implemented here?). So I am a bit confused about how this is supposed to work ... and would like to hear some suggestions on what to check for such that I can resolve my problem and scan happily.

BR,

Rene

Hi,

#1: We post the release notes on Google Market for each release. I'll see about getting the release notes for our recent release up.

#2: If you are connected to the Eye-Fi Card, you won't have internet access which is required when changing the device settings. The device settings are maintained on the server. We could definitely make this clearer. If your wifi is connected to our card, the phone won't let you access your 3g network so until it disconnects you don't have internet access.

In order to do the transfers you need to pair the card to the phone. So on the phone you go to Eye-Fi device settings while connected to your 3g or wifi internet (not the Eye-Fi card), and check the card you want to use. Make sure to select RAW photos as one of the transfer types. Note, you need an Eye-Fi Pro card to support RAW transfers (PDF is considered a raw format). If you have already paired it once, go back to the Eye-Fi device settings and uncheck the card then re-check it and make sure the photo/raw are selected.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

I missing a lot some webpage with a full description of the release notes.
Is very useful to know what new features was implemented... look at google play is very useless because have only the last.
I update my eyefy app from 1.2.3 to 1.2.6 ... I do not get the release between this versions... how to know what was implemented???
Pleeeeease, publish at support page or inside of the app at "whats news" option inside Help menu a full or at leas the last five release notes...
Regards
Cesar
