RAW files not geotagged for FTP sync

Postby tonycpsu » Sat Dec 03, 2011 9:36 pm

I was happy to see that RAW geotagging (via the XMP sidecar file) was added recently, but it's not working as I'd hoped. It works if I sync photos to my laptop, but if I use the FTP destination (which is how I usually sync my photos) the XMP files don't get synced to my FTP server.

Is RAW geotagging to FTP accounts supported, and if not, can it be added?

hi tonycpsu,

I believe the .XMP "sidecar" feature is only supported by the Eye-Fi Helper desktop software when you transfer your geotagged files to a Mac/Windows system.

Maybe it could also be added on the server side for FTP uploads... I'd suggest posting in our Feature Requests forum. viewforum.php?f=10

Thanks -- posted in the feature requests forum -- I only bought the X2 pro when geotagging was added, so hopefully it's supported via FTP soon.
