Can't find XMP files on eye-fi PRO card (RAW import to LR4)

Postby sigity » Mon Jun 04, 2012 6:54 pm

Hi All,

I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong, because I can't seem to successfully find and import xmp files from my eye-fi pro card to LR4. I have geotagging turned on in eye-fi center, and if I shoot jpeg, the geo location appears just fine. I only have a problem with RAW. I am shooting on a d300s, and I have eye fi version 3.4.26

Any help would be appreciated. I'm assuming I should be able to just browse the eye-fi card's directories and see the xmp files, right???

hi sigity,

Geotagging occurs during the wireless upload process, once the Eye-Fi software (or server) receives your photos, so you won't find any traces of geotagging on the card itself. If your photos were geotagged, Eye-Fi Helper should save the .xmp "sidecar" files alongside the RAW photos it saves to your computer.

For some more details: http://support.eye.fi/features/geo/what-is-geotagging/

hope this helps!

Ah!

So in order to import into lightroom, I first have to transfer photos via wireless (eye-fi center) to my computer.

Ok, I'll try that when I get home tonight.

Thanks.
