So far I've had no error 80s on my 5dmkiii and auto off is working fine too - though I'm tending to leave the card disabled for transmit until I actually need it. It still seems much more stable than before.

That makes sense and is good to hear. 5.1002 fixes a bug that should have a positive effect for the 5d Mark III. Keep using the card and please report back if you have any other observations. Thanks!

I got an error 80 again last night. They do seem rarer than before, but nonetheless I got one. I believe this was when powering back up the camera from sleep (it was not turned off when I half-depressed the shutter release). WLAN was disabled in camera - it seems better for me to keep it off until I want to do a review transfer.

I was in the middle of a shoot so I'm afraid I just pulled the eye-fi and carried on.

The other thing - which may be entirely unrelated, is that when I pull the card from the reader after about 5mins in the desktop, it's pretty hot.

I also notice that the biggest battery drops on my 5dmkiii are after one of these error 80 situations - though perhaps I'm just looking harder then

Any news on the next beta version which you'd hinted elsewhere might further solve this issue?

I can't provide a timetable but we are working on getting a new beta out asap.
