keep in mind that due to a limitation of the apple operating system the ipad has to have the eyefi software actually running in order to receive the photos it will not work while it is minimized or running in the back ground

assuming you are close to your home network try following these instructions
http://support.eye.fi/mobile/ios/how/sa ... os-device/

if you wish to use the card away from known wireless networks use direct mode ( keep in mind this will not work if you have added a wireless network to the card and it is in range and only works on X2 cards)
http://support.eye.fi/mobile/ios/how/se ... e-for-ios/

try posting a card log here and we will try and see whats happening.

1. Insert your Eye-Fi card into your camera
2. Take 5 pictures
3. Wait 5 minutes to give the photos a chance to upload
4. Remove the card from your camera *
5. Insert the Eye-Fi card into the USB card reader and into your computer
6. Click on the Eye-Fi Helper icon in the Apple Menu Bar or in the Windows Task Bar
7. Select "Get Eye-Fi card Log..." from the menu. You may have to wait several seconds, but, in a moment, you will be asked where to save the Eye-Fi card log file
8. Save the Eye-Fi card.log file to your computer hard drive and reply to this forum thread with your log file attached

well i tried your advice and still no joy. remember, i have an ipad and your giving me instructions for a mac as the USB reader wont go into the ipad. also when i open the eye-fi center it goes directly to the pics already on the ipad taken with the ipad cam and i cannot figure out how to open the center to view the center. hope this makes sense. also when i try to set the ipad to direct mode there is no box to check in networks.

no i also have a Mac-mini, and i set it up on that as well. but my need is to have it on the ipad for photo shots but the eye-fi center is not opening up, when i tap on the app it goes directly to the pics that i already have on the ipad taken with the ipad cam.

the instructions i pasted above are both for ios devices. some of the setup needs to be done on mac or windows even if your chosen destination is the ipad, also if you follow my last instructions and attach a card log we can see were your setup is falling down

[04:31] None of the 0 configured wireless networks detected among the 1 within range.

card has no wireless networks configured

[00:03] Card is in none (0x000) transfer mode (timestamp 0), geo-tagging is disabled, hotspots are disabled.

and is not configured to transfer its pictures anywhere

you need to install the eyefi software on a pc or mac and configure the card there before you can configure it on the ipad. the information about how the card connects and which device it is sending its pictures to is stored on the card itself, you cant tell the card using wireless how it should connect if it doesn't know how to connect to your network if you see what i mean. configuring the cards connections has to be done using the usb interface on a pc or mac.

follow these instructions but at the part..... were do i want my pictures to be sent select "my mobile device"

good advice but the last part about where to send pics "my mobile device" does not show up anywhere. i open the eye fi center on my computer and go to the gear next to the ipad icon but there is no option to assign a destination under photos. and the eye fi center does not open up on the ipad, as it goes straight to the pics already stored and taken with the ipad cam. it did transfer some pics that i previously had on the eye fi card but no transfer of pics that i took at the moment.

your eyefi card cannot send pictures anywhere because it has not been configured with a wireless connection either via a router or direct mode

until you add a wireless network or set up direct mode you will not be able to configure or receive photo's from your eyefi card on your ipad you are focusing on the destination before you have found a way for your photos to get there.

on your mac mini add a wireless network to the eyefi card (this has to be done with the card in the supplied card reader)

http://support.eye.fi/cards/networks/ho ... e-fi-card/

if you wish to use your card away from your home router then enable direct mode (some stages are required to be done on your mac again )

http://support.eye.fi/features/direct/ios-eye-fi-app/

once you have done these try again with the card in the camera take some more pictures wait 5 mins and repost your log as before.

im going to wait for an eyefi'er to take a look at your log, i dont want to steer you in the wrong direction. i can see you have managed to activate the hotspot feature and it seems like you have direct mode working but you are having problems with the connection im not great with the ios system but someone will be right along to take a look for you
