Eye-Fi Mobile Center on webOS - Hooray!

Postby martinb on Fri Aug 06, 2010 5:57 am

Firstly, thanks for officially supporting webOS! I am a Palm Pre owner and it is always nice to see one of the best platforms supported even if its not the most popular.

Some feedback on the mobile center:

It would be nice if there was a forward and back button while viewing albums (maybe using the swipe left and right gestures?)

It would also be nice if the photos automatically positioned themselves to take up the full screen. With full screen and the swipe gestures to navigate, E.M.C would be my preferred method of viewing recent phots.

Keep up the good work!

When I try to go to m.center.eye.fi I just receive the following message on my Palm Pre:

"Eye-Fi Mobile Center is coming soon for your desktop computer"

Is this beta not working on the Pre yet? Or is it a carrier thing? It works ok on my daughter's iPhone (different carrier)

Hi Col,

The beta should be working on the Pre. At first glance it looks like our software might be a little misconfigured, and might not be recognizing your Pre as a mobile device. What version of WebOS are you running?

Thanks,
alex

Alex, this message is also appearing for the iPad browser. I realize it's not as much of a mobile device as a phone, but it also believes it's a desktop browser.
My cameras: Nikon D90, Panasonic ZS7
My Eye-Fi: 8GB Pro X2

Mike, we are considering the iPad as a 'desktop' given its larger screen. A 'desktop' friendly version of Mobile Center is in the works, at which point iPad and desktop browsers will have access to the site.

love webOS and I'll probably grab the new touchpad when it comes out. Could you please look into supporting direct eye-fi to phone/touchpad support. My understanding is HP will make the app or you and let you take ownership if you let them. PLEASE!
