We've done many customer surveys of current feature satisfaction and future feature suggestions and you couldn't be more wrong about your wild assumption. That's not to say that preview-related features don't get suggested, but they're not even double-digit percentages in our surveys, so let's begin by establishing that you are an outlier in your belief that this is a "must have" or "implied" feature. That doesn't mean you're not entitled to your opinion - you of course are, but your argument does not gain any additional validity with baseless projections.
Because people want to see the image the just took NOW, on their large display.
Many Eye-Fi users upload their photos while they are nowhere near a screen or paying attention to a screen. Some Eye-Fi users upload photos and are interested in live rolling slideshows. Some Eye-Fi users are interested in static displays that update on each uploaded photos. Others want histograms to be overlaid on them. Yet others want them mapped onto spinning 3D cubes... And guess what, there are very reasonable ways of achieving most of this on both operating systems that we support without Eye-Fi taking on a very multi-faceted feature that's outside the core features of the product (as documented and advertised).
Really people this is like 10 lines of code.
Right.
If this feature is not added with the quickness I am returning my X2 Pro. Comon.. really; its like 10 LINES OF CODE!!!
If that's your decision, we can't do anything but respect it. I'll still offer that you could also follow this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1017for more constructive approaches that folks have taken to similar needs, using operating system features like folder scripts which are designed exactly for this kind of inter-application synergy. That way not everyone has to reinvent the wheel (and then hear of disappointment when their wheel that was designed by engine designers have bad traction).
BTW.. Do not link me to the crappy workaround page because that is NOT a solution.
OK. Duly noted.
...not have to install 3rd party apps and or python scripts or any other crap to get a simple, basic, necessary, implied, expected means of previewing my photos.
Implied how?
As a wise person once suggested on this very forum, if you're going to buy the product for one and only one feature, to the point that you'll return the product simply based on the absence of that feature, please write an e-mail, send a Tweet, call toll free or fly a messenger pigeon to find out if the feature exists. A five-minute conversation can save a lot of mutual disappointment and aggravation.
