Eye-Fi on a NetBook

I have a Toshiba Netbook which I travel with. Very neat, light little machine. 1024 x 600 screen! Thus far I've found only three programs which won't tolerate this screen resolution - Gretag-MacBeth's monitor calibration software, which once running only uses a small patch of the screen under the gadget that one hangs on it, Canon's bundled down-load, editing and camera configuration packageand the Eye-Fi Manager / Centre etc.

I do just wonder whether these problems were created deliberately, or are simply the result of someone using a library without actually thinking about what it provides?

Happily I have discovered that I can (I think) get by with the Eye-Fi suite. After setting / altering any configuration item, one is expected to click on an "OK" icon way down at the bottom of the screen, but by moving sideways I get hit with an error message in the middle asking whether I want to save or abandon, which seems to do the trick.

But why didn't they think of these wide (or if you prefer, stunted) displays?
