LinksysbyCisco WRT610N dual band router

Postby YuMe » Tue Apr 21, 2009 4:36 am

Hello,
I can not connect to my LinksysbyCisco WRT610N dual band router with Eye-Fi 4GB video card.
tried with and without WPA2 personal security. added Mac address to router for identification.
Tried 3 routers; 2x WRT610N and WTR54G.
Pairing on WRT610N WPA2 security is not possible.
Any idea's?

Did you ever find a solution? I have the same problem, and it seems nobody has any ideas.

Also having issue with setting up. Changed from WEP that works with ipad, iphone and imac to WPA2 and now WPA but nothing will connect.
Have you gotten this thing to work?

Try changing from B/G/N to B/G only... I seem to remember someone else here saying that they had problems with their card connecting to their WRT610N when it was in B/G/N mode.

I have a WAP610N (basically the wireless access point part of the router only) and have no problems with it in B/G only mode (I've never run it in N-mode for other reasons).

Thanks for the info.
It's always set for Mixed, B,G,N but changed it to N, tried just G so will try B/G.

Shouldn't be this difficult...

seems to be working. Thanks a bunch...
Wait...thought it was working as now all the options are not greyed out in Eye-Fi Centre but it's still not connecting.
However, my options are now clickable.

My network is now showing up in Eye-Fi Centre, finally....
I'm no network genius, just a retired self taught Mac tech from 7 years ago.

Settings...
wireless B/G only, weird since the website says the card is N only. Backwards compat I'm guessing...
Channel is 20MHz only
channels on auto
SSID is enabled

104/128-bit encryption with a huge generated key...

So far so good.

You should be able to use WPA/WPA2 rather than the less-than-secure WEP (I only know you're using WEP because WEP keys are either 40/64 bit or 104/128 bit)... WPA2 with AES is to-date the most secure option, which I'm using successfully on my wireless network.
