Eye-fi Centre Not Recognizing Card Plugged In

Postby wcameron » Tue May 10, 2011 2:10 pm

I have two 8 gb Pro X2 cards. Adobe did an update of its Air software today and now when I plug in the cards to my computer I DO get a message in Eye-fi helper that the computer has recognized that I have plugged in a card. However Eye-fi Centre does not show it connected and won't allow me to make changes to settings that require the card to be connected. I've tried my built-in CF port as well as the included reader. My computer shows the cards in the Windows Explorer and I can access them in every program EXCEPT Eye-fi Center.

The Adobe Air update brings it to v 2.5.1.17730

I'm on a Win 7 system.

Any help is appreciated.

wcameron,

Can you post your Eye-Fi Center log files to this forum please (or PM them to me if you prefer). You should have a file called Eye-Fi Center.log available in:

C:\Users\username_here\AppData?\Roaming\fi.eye.center.*\Local Store

Thanks

I'm having the same problem with Win XP. The card is recognized in Eye-Fi Helper and though Windows Explorer, but when I try to access the photos through Eye Fi Center (or try to change any settings), it says the Eye-Fi card needs to be plugged in. I also haven't been able to transfer pictures. The last time it worked successfully was May 7th.

Same boat. Nothing I try makes Eye-Fi Center know that I have my card plugged in. I've tried removing and replacing the card; restarting Eye-Fi Center; and using both the supplied card reader and my Mac's SD card slot.

I'm on OS X using Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Sigh. Just got this card and have been thinking about how cool this is, but I'm going to have to reconsider that if I'm going to have to struggle to get it to work. Can't set up any new networks or enable "endless memory." Great.

Okay, something is severely broken in 3.4.24. The card cannot be recognized in an iMac running Lion, a MBAir running Lion, a Windows box running Win7, WinXP or a virtualized WinXP or Win7 box. I'd try a PowerBook running 10.4, but Center doesn't run on less than 10.5. Can someone at Eye-Fi post a link to an older version of Center for Mac & Windows so we can at least use the cards we bought? I have a family event on the 5th and need to add a WiFi network to the card. Thanks.

Okay, the card was identified by a friend's iMac running the same OS (10.7.3) and Center (3.4.24). I was able to add the new network to it and when I got home, my version of Center recognized it. I noticed that it now had an "Eye-Fi" folder with some stuff in it as well.

That said, it no longer connected via WiFi so I couldn't get my images to upload wirelessly. I eventually reformatted it with Disk Utility and while it once again is not identified by Center (tho it does have the "Eye-Fi" folder), it is now uploading. Seems like an either/or proposition.
