Geotagging not working

Postby seider » Sun May 22, 2011 5:22 pm

I keep getting an error message that the Eye-Fi Center application is not connected to the Eye-Fi Server and therefore cannot geotag that pictures. It gives me the option to continue searching for a connection or continue without geotagging. At first, I clicked keep searching because I knew I was connected to the internet, but the error message kept popping up. After a couple times, I just clicked skip the geotagging. But it STILL pops up! I want to get rid of this message AND geotag my pictures. I don't know why its not connecting to the network. Any help?   Kind of annoyed now :/

I think there are issues on Eye-Fi's end, and they affect more than just geotagging. I just moved 200+ RAW+JPEG pictures (over 400 files total) from my card to my computer, and only ~120 of them have been uploaded to my Picasa account. My laptop is showing that it's still trying to transfer the JPEGs to be shared, but it doesn't seem to be getting very far with any of the remaining pictures.
My cameras: Nikon D90, Panasonic ZS7
My Eye-Fi: 8GB Pro X2

I hate to say it but you are not alone with this issue. I keep having intermittent geotagging problems. I seem to be connected to the network ok, but it is totally hit or miss as to whether the geotagging will work. Have you found a cause/solution for this?
