Cannot connect eye fi card to wireless network

Postby diablo » Thu Jun 02, 2011 5:01 pm

Hi there,

I just buy the eye fi card Pro X2 few days ago.

The problem is that when I want to connect to my home network in the private networks setup tab, it could not connect.

I already select my network and the password correctly but still could not connect.

Do I need to do any setup to my network/router in order to enable the eye-fi card so that it can connect to my home network?

Thanks in advance

Diablo,

Depending on how you previously set up your router, you might still need to add the MAC address of your EYE-FI card into your router's wireless list of allowed MAC addresses and be sure to SAVE the revised list in the router wireless page before you close it (a good security measure to use, BTW). :)

diablo,

If you could post the error message Eye-Fi Center displays to you, I could at try to give you some troubleshooting tips.

diablo,

It sounds like RonJon is correct in his assessment of your issue. From the error message, it looks like your router filters by mac address. This means that the mac address which belongs to the Eye-Fi card cannot communicate with your router unless you disable mac address filtering on your router or add the Eye-Fi card's mac address to the filter list on your router. I'd google for '<NAME_OF_YOUR_ROUTER> mac address filtering' and that should bring up some tips on how to work around this issue.

diablo,

If you're having some issues after looking into mac filtering, please feel free to open a support ticket by emailing support@eye.fi with a detailed description of what you are having problems with.

I have this same problem (my home wi-fi router filters by mac address). I know how to add an address to the permitted list inside the router ... but I don't know how to find out what the mac address of my new Eye-Fi card is. Can anyone give me an idea of how to do that?

Thanks,
