The short story is, my connection between my camera and tablet is failing randomly, and corrupting photos.
I bought a Canon Rebel T3i and an EyE Fi ProX2 about a week ago. I downloaded the newest firmware to the card, set it up on my computer, and paired it with my Galaxy Tab 10.1. Afterwards, I set up my tablet to transfer pictures to my computer when connected to the wifi at home.
For a few days, it worked perfectly. I transferred some 500+ pictures flawlessly from SD card to tablet to computer. After a few days, I got an error on my tablet, saying that there was a receive error, and started seeing crashes every few seconds. The errors I see are "the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly" and then after a few of those I see, "Google Services Framework (process com.google.process gapps) has stopped unexpectedly - please try again", and THEN pretty much every google app and service crashes and the tablet has to be rebooted. Additionally, when the tablet connects to the computer, it attempts to upload the file, but then throws and error saying "File size can not be zero". Side note here: When this happens, the connection icon in my notifications on my tablet is flashing constantly, and the little notification window on my computer is popping up over and over. It looks like the tablet is attempting to send the file and the computer is rejecting it due to file size, but the tablet isn't marking the file as corrupt or invalid, so it just tries to send it over and over.
After doing some trouble shooting, I found that several photos on the tablet had been corrupted. I connected the camera direclty to my computer via USB, moved all the photos on the card over the computer manually and cleared everything off the card. I located and removed the corrupted photos from the tablet. I attempted to move the pictures from my computer to my tablet, since I use the tablet to review the photos I take, but several of the photos wouldn't transfer. I assumed the photos on the card itself were corrupted, but I found out there was still one corrupted photo on the tablet that I missed, so I don't know if this was interfering with the transfer or not. All the photos on the computer from the camera card seemed fine. I'll test this more thoroughly if I get a chance. After removing the last corrupted photo, I then took a few pictures to see if that fixed it. The first picture transfers fine, then it fails on the second picture, with the second picture being corrupted.
I cleaned the card and tablet again, uninstalled eye-fi from my tablet and reinstalled it. At this point it started working again and everything seemed fine. I took about 100 pictures and they transferred just fine.
This morning I took about 50 more, and half way through, the error showed up again. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the eyefi app on the tablet, hoping that alone would fix the problem, but I guess I have to clear the corrupted photos from the tablet as well.
That's the story. When this thing works, it's awesome. I'd love to get it working reliably. Any help would be appreciated.
