In the card's Direct Mode settings (Eye-Fi Center>card settings>Networks>Direct Mode), you can adjust the sliders to specify how long the card broadcasts Direct Mode and waits for a connection from your device (slider 1), and how long it stays connected to your device after photos are transferred (slider 2). You'll need to connect the card to the computer to check/adjust these settings. So if it's disconnecting too quickly after photos transfer, raise the 2nd slider and/or adjust your camera's power/sleep setting.
Also, remember that Direct Mode is primarily intended for environments where you have no other wi-fi networks available. If you are near wi-fi network you have access to, you can add that network to the Eye-Fi card. This way, you can still transfer media files to your device without having to switch your device back and forth to the card's network. Later when you are away from your network, the card will use Direct Mode to send your files.
To add a network to the card:
http://support.eye.fi/cards/networks/ho ... e-fi-card/mikeweis: during the Direct Mode setup process on iOS, if you clicked the 'Add Network' button and installed an Eye-Fi Card network profile onto your iPad, then your iPad knows the password to your card's network. If you take pictures onto the card, see a network appear that starts with "Eye-Fi Card", and when you tap that network name, you see a spinning wheel or check mark next to it, then you are connected (the password has been sent). Open the Eye-Fi app, and on the main (Media) screen, pull up the status bar at the bottom if it is not already up, to see the status of things.
This is all usually easier to run through over the phone, so if anyone is having trouble with Direct Mode, please give us a call.
