Fuji HS10 turns off when picture is taken...says "no image"

Postby texastalls » Wed Dec 22, 2010 7:38 pm

I have successfully set up my card and network and have uploaded pics both to my pc and Facebook.

Here's my problem: My Fuji HS10 turns off immediately after every picture is taken. Sometimes this means it doesn't save the image at all. Other times, when I turn the camera back on, the saved picture will upload to my computer. Regardless of how many pictures ARE successfully taken (by physically turning the camera off...then back on again) in playback mode it says "no image".

I have already tried all three power save settings: off, 2 mins, 5 mins.

Thanks, Dina Tall

I read this same thing somewhere else, looks like this camera is not compatible.

texastalls,

Sorry your post went without a reply for so long.

If you still have the Eye-Fi card, could you post or pm a copy of your card log? I would like to see the details of your card to see if we can try a few things to get you going.

Here are instructions to get the card log:

- Plug the Eye-Fi Card into the USB card reader and into your computer
- Click on the Eye-Fi Helper icon in the Apple Menu Bar or in the Windows Task Bar
- Select "Get Eye-Fi Card Log..." from the menu. You may have to wait several seconds, but, in a moment, you will be asked where to save the Eye-Fi Card log file
- Save the Eye-Fi Card.log file and send that log in a PM(Private Message) to me or post it here in this forum thread

Hello,

Santa brought me a brand new Eye-Fi card to use with my HS10 but... it turns off when picture is taken.

I noticed 2 new folders in the Eye-Fi card (E:\) :

E:\DCIM (empty)
and
E:\107_FUJI (with jpg files)

But the right structure should be :

E:\DCIM\107_FUJI\[photos].jpg

I changed the folders structure and my HS10 works fine with the Eye-Fi card now !!

Happy New Year !
Stephane.

Stephane, that's fantastic, thank you! I just took delivery of two Eye-Fi cards today - one of which is for an HS10 and the other for a Fuji S5 Pro - and have had exactly the same problem with the HS10. It's random that the camera doesn't recognise the existing DCIM folder on the card, but by simply creating one over there by hand it's sorted it all out! Spot on piece of advice, thank you again :)
