Eye-Fi Center working but droid app not showing latest photo

Postby svper » Thu Jan 12, 2012 11:24 am

I already flashed to the latest firmware.

So I am working at an office and one person is taking pictures on a Sony Cybershot which is then uploading to our file server via her laptop.

That is working ok but she wanted the ability to access her Eye-Fi photos on her phone so she can txt them to people.

I set up the android app on her phone, and told it to NOT switch from her laptop to the phone for sending photos.

The photos are right there on the file server, and show up in the Eye-Fi Center on the laptop, but when looking at the photos on the android app you can only see the photos taken on the phone, not on the app

It looks like it is only showing photos actually taken on the phone but not the photos in the eyefi center

I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it a few times but no luck.

Any ideas?

I thought the whole point of the Eye-Fi center is your photos are accessible anywhere? Why should it matter if the camera adds them to the Eye-Fi center or the phone?

Get me?

no the android app is a way to preview the photo immiediatly and to allow for uploading to further locations

you can use the eyefi webpage to access your photos but the android app does not have access to view photos taken with the eyfi card and sent to another location.

to do what you want to do you would have to point the phones browser to http://center.eye.fi/view.php and download the images from there however the free service only shows the last 7 days i think the "eyefi view" premium service keeps a back up of all photo's

OK then I think what I am going to do is add the users phones mac address to our wireless network then just give her access to photos in her pictures directory. Problem solved.

Leads me to another question. Can I set up the Eye-Fi to receive pictures from both her phone and her camera simultaneously or do I have to chose one?

nop eyefi card can only send photos to one device if that device is an android phone or ios iphone/ipad then it can forward the photos to another device, say a lptop or desktop running eyefi center.

and on a side note if you leave the eyefi app on her phone it can share the photos it takes in the same way as the eyefi card

hi svper,

Sure, an Android or iOS device will show up in Eye-Fi Center as if it's another Eye-Fi card that can upload photos.

Open Eye-Fi Center on the computer where you want to receive photos from the phone. In the Devices list, click the name of the phone, and next to it, click the cog wheel icon to open the settings. Under Photos (and/or other formats), you can enable uploads to the computer.

If you want all phone camera pictures to automatically upload to the computer, in the Eye-Fi Android app, open the upload settings and make sure the Phone Camera option is turned on. Otherwise if you just want to send them manually, you can do that in the app.

Make sure to set 'Upload to Computer' to have card received photos automatically uploaded to her computer as well.
