Upload issues on Nikon D5000 and Linksys E3200 Router.

Postby bdgregg » Mon Feb 06, 2012 5:56 pm

I've been using my Eye-Fi Pro X2 for over a year without any real issues (great little card - love it and have been telling everyone about it).

However, recently and I'm thinking since the update to 5.0001 I've noticed that my pictures are no longer transferring to the PC as smoothly as before, in fact at times not at all. It seems to start (single picture on the PC) and then completely stops - other times nothing at all. My Linksys E3200 router firmware is version: 1.0.02. From the router logs I can see the DHCP requests coming in and it assigning an IP address, but nothing is being transferred to the PC. I've uploaded two files "Eye-Fi Card A.log" and "Eye-Fi Card B.log". The first one (A) should show an issue connecting and not able to upload. The other (B) should show a long duration between the camera turn on and then finally a successful upload. The camera is about 3 feet from the router. I am not having any other wireless issues (Android phone, Android tablet, wireless printer, and two laptops are all working fine as is a Wii game console).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Brian.

I'm still having the same issue - partially transfers a single image and then hangs. Turn camera off and back on, it continues but hangs again - Anyone have a hint?

I'm attaching my most recent log file.

And just for the record, I have formatted the card in the camera as well as I'm seeing in some other posts. And I have moved the camera 5-15 feet away from the AP. Still have the same results.

Anyone care to lend a hand?

If you have connected the eye fi to another device you will have to reconnect it to the computer. Also, check to see that the eye fi upload setting is turned on on your camera. I was having an issue with my eye fi card and Nikon D5000 too. Also, make sure you are using the current eye fi firmware and that the correct username is added for your network. If yu have done all of this, try removing your network and ejecting the card and then put the card back in your computer and adding the network again. If this doesn't help, write Eye-Fi directly. Their email address can be found on their site. They respond promptly and will be able to help.

hi bdgregg,

Have you restarted your router and/or computer? If not, please give those a try.

The newest log shows the card uploading through your router just fine near the beginning, but near the end we can see the symptoms you described (the card receives an IP address but doesn't appear to transfer). It's the same firmware and the signal strength is good, so I wonder if there are any other variables at play here.

If rebooting your devices doesn't help, please make sure you have some photos on the card waiting to upload, and plug the card into your computer using our card reader, wait 2 minutes, then save another card log. We'll be curious to see whether the card remained on for 2 minutes (and uploaded anything) or disconnected again.

Please email the card log and your Eye-Fi Helper log as attachments to support@eye.fi with the same same details about what is happening, and a link to this thread.

To find the Eye-Fi Helper log, check this post: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5359#p20322

Thanks!

After following the changes outlined in the following URL I've been able to successfully resume transfers between my Eye Fi card and my home PC/Network (Linksys E3200) without hanging and or dropping connection. This may come in handy for those that have been having any similar problems.

Just wish I found this info sooner.

Thanks,
Brian.
