We are considering purchasing a card and I am trying to figure out what needs Internet access and what doesn't. Direct mode does not, will transmit directly to iPad or iPhone through an app when the camera is near one of these devices - correct? Sharing to Facebook, Picasa, etc does require wifi - correct? Does Eye-Fi view (premium or not) require a wifi connection? Is this one of the things you configure upon setup?
We will be on a cruise ships with limited Internet access for a month and are trying to understand how much we can share with others at home while we are gone. If I understand correctly, unless pictures go directly to view, I will need some kind of Internet connection to share images.
