Eye-Fi Pro 8GB X2 Card not working with Canon D600

Postby frizby66 » Wed Mar 21, 2012 1:04 am

Hi,

Canon 600D fw: 1.0.2
Wifi Card fw: 5.0008
Iphone 4S: fw 5.1
PC OS: Windows Vista
Eye-Fi Software: 3.4.24

Can use direct mode (all be it by doing the work around for IOS 5+) when the card is in the Computer. Can add a Wifi network, again when card is in computer. When I put the card in the Canon, I get nothing (Eye-Fi access is enabled through the Canon menu). I can see the details of the card, but I get nothing else, no SSID, screen says card is not connected.

Below is a list of things I have tried:

1) Camera set to JPG only.
2) Have taken pictures to see if card changes...nothing. Images are there, but status of card doesnt change (no flashing wifi connection on Canon).
3) Have powered down, powered up.
4) Have reset the defaults on the Camera.
5) Upgraded fw on the camera.

So, when the crad is in the computer, I can do everything. When the card is in the camera, it appears to do nothing. Have checked the logs on the card, and it records the camera enabling/disabiling the card. Log also shows the card connecting to my wifi when it is connected to the computer.

Any ideas?

I'd like to check out your card log and see what's going on. Could you please post the log as an attachment here?

Thanks!

Problem solved :-)

Thanks to Gene who emailed me details on how to fix the problem (wasnt really a problem, just a configuration change). I had set the transfer mode to only transfer photo's that I had set as protected in the Camera, but then had not set any photo's as protected doh!

I do have to say that the instructions on how it all works are a little unclear, maybe a simple picagram would help a lot. Once you get your head around how it all works with your PC and Iphone it makes total sense and is a terrific system. Thanks Eye-fi :-D

Great! Glad Gene could help you out. We are aware that the setup process can be confusing at times, and we're working on ways to improve the software as well as the documentation to make the flow smoother for our customers. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Marc,

Assuming you have setup the wifi on the card, the missing link for me was that to transfer the image, you must protect the image. So take you pictures, review them on the camera, and the ones you want to transfer, simply protect them. After you come out of the playback mode and after a few seconds the eyefi card will start to transfer.

Hope this helps?
