Uploading only select images and video from iOS & other Q's

Postby Airmack » Sun Apr 15, 2012 10:48 am

I picked up the 4Gig x2 for my wife yesterday. Downloaded the app for her iPhone 4S (5.1) After setting up the save location on the PC which is set to a folder on an external USB drive. I started to uploaded a few images from the phone to PC.

1. Now she has 300 + videos and images. Would you recommend uploading them all in one shot or a few at a time?
2. If I do upload say 20 images & then come back tomorrow to upload more, will the app tell me which ones are all ready uploaded or do I just have to figure that out for my self?
3. Does the Eye-Fi card reader have to remain connected to the PC?
4. If I install the Eye-Fi app on my iPhone (Same model and updates) and log in as her, will it allow both iPhones to uploaded content to the PC and can I tell the Eye-Fi program on the PC to save content from my iPhone to a different location then the location her phone content is being saved too?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

1) Any idea what the total size of the files are(make sure you have relay transfer turned off or it will take a really long time)? You can try uploading all at once but might want to make sure the phone is charged or plugged in to the charger since it'll probably take a while to transfer all files.
2) Images that have been previously uploaded will show an up arrow when you view it in the Eye-fi iOS app(it won't show until you click on the share button on the top right corner).
3) The eye-fi card reader does not need to remain connected to the PC. Once everything is set up all transfer takes place via your wifi network or through the internet.
4) If you have multiple iDevices after you install the Eye-fi app and configure, it will show up in Eye-Fi center on your PC. Select the little gear icon there to select a different location for the uploads.(Example, I have an iPhone 4 and iPad and I have it set up so the uploads go to different directories on my PC).
Hope that helps.
