To "berend"
Hope you are reading this and not ignoring it.
I have read all your posts concernign this topic and now have a better understanding of the difficulties you face as a company and as a poster in this forum.
However you did state in an earlier post
"CF is not a huge market. It is a higher-end niche and shrinking market."
Would you admit that this statement needs reconsidering

You also stated that English is not your first language, well you type/speak it very well. (Yeah I know not much relevance here but still a valid point :) )

They already have the technology so including that in a different type of card should not be that much of work. Like someone else pointed out - may be a licensing issue?? I would definitely like see CF eye-fi card (sooner the better :? ). If they think CF will be gone soon - think again - latest Nikon DSLR have CF slot in them so they will be around for quite some time. We can only suggest and hope ...

How many people are you looking to have say they want a CF format card before you come out with one?

Add me to the list.

Please add support for CF cards or adapter to work with the SD SDHC cards.
Thanks,

This (http://www.amazon.com/SDHC-High-Speed-E ... B0048W4RV4) actually works awesome with the Canon 50D.
I bought mine from (http://www.shopdigi.com/product.aspx?pf_id=SDXCF) a great bunch of guys, I removed the metal from the side with out the electronics to help with the distance.
This is the 3rd card I have tried with my Explore x2, it is the only one to have worked in any form.

Just bought a Sandisk 8GB Eye-Fi card and fully update the card to the last FW available... (v5.xxxxx something)

I setup the card in my PC for my network, the transferring, ... And then used it in my Panasonic LX5 where all is working OK.

I then used a recently bought SD to CF adapter (on E-Bay (not allowed to put external URL)) and tried this and it works !!!

The speed is relatively low, most likely due to the metal in the CF adapter + my Nikon D300 body...
When I reconfigured the card to work in 'direct mode' only (basically removed my home network from the config, so the card starts up in direct mode) the speeds were much better since the distance to my tablet was much smaller than to my router.

So don't know what you are all asking, with a bit of effort this does work ????

I just posted to the Eye-Fi Facebook page. They gave me a nice answer but not a satisfactory one. It basically states that the SD card format for consumer camera is growing and that is where they are going to focus. Here is my suggestion. POST ON THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE!! Also, if you are a member of other FB pages or other forums post there urging others to post to the Eye-Fi FB page. Let the KNOW how many of us really want a CF option. I think if they were to get 50k of hits from all over the US and countries where they sell, it might have an impact. Nothing to lose by trying.

Hi.

had to register for the forum as this lack of CF cards is ridiculous. I'm a professional photographer and have say...None of my friends use a SD card and I think that is the case all around world. If eye-fi's market research says that there is no demand for the CF... You guys should consider to fire that person/company. Most of the pro cameras use cf cards... that alone should be a reason to manufacture CF models.

And the lack of replying to this matter is so f u c k i n g annoying that if there would be a another company that made CF version, i would pay double the price for them. Customer service is quite important, u know. Camera manufactures will eventually add this wireless tethering function inside the cameras, so in the meantime, if i would be in charge of eye-fi, i would squeeze every possible version out and try to get all the profit that i can, after all the end is coming sooner or later, for this kind of products.

the demand now is for the CF cards, so make one... and while you are on it, why not even make it better than the SD version, you've got much more room to do it.

I just registered today to say:
I'm not buying Eye-Fi until there is a CF version.

I understand your reasons for not making a CF card eye-fi. There do seem to be enough potential users out there (pro-level cameras and even the Canon Rebel XTI use them) that the effort to develop or have developed for you an eye-fi compatible SD to CF adapter wouldn't be wasted.

Let me add my voice to those requesting an eye-fi solution for cameras with CF cards. I'd certainly buy two of them.

This topic seems to have died since Eye-fi isn't interested. I would buy two as well. This is something that they can make money with but they seem not to care.

I too really need a solution to update my Nikon D300 with wi-fi capability/connectivity to laptop and/or iPhone. I don't understand why most people would by an Eye-fi SD card because most camera and computer owners own a smart phone that can replace a point and a shoot camera and has wi-fi capability. But DSLR camera owners without wi-fi capable models really need an affordable solution. Replacing my DSLR is not an option for me. PLEASE Eye-fi, find a fix to this whether it is a mini-USB wi-fi dongle or a CF-card solution.

just make a CF version of the card - it's more space available to fit electronics so shouldn't be a big problem.

CF may be a niche market but then so is Eye-Fi.

The two would go together well as the same people who seek the functionality of an Eye-Fi card would also be inclined to own a Camera that uses CF format media.

I put it to Eye-Fi that SD is actually a shrinking market also. Smart phones are the new point and shoot and not only do they come with WiFi, they also take microSD.

I'm not sure what the cost would be for Eye-Fi to branch out into CF cards but I imagine that R&D would be minimal (given that current SD cards work in a lot of cameras already with an adapter). Perhaps there are prohibitive licensing costs? Perhaps there is already a patent on wireless CF cards?

I'm pretty sure a high speed, high capacity Eye-Fi CF card that does not rely on web based registration and that god awful Adobe Air (now Titanium) based app would sell very well, even at a substantial MSRP.

Don't hold your breath as I have a slight suspicion Eye-fi has abandoned almost everything, at least the Beta project is killed and I have no good feelings that it will come back in the near future.

So, money in the bin, card gathering dust very soon I'm affraid, and it was such a nice dream it was, sniff

There's a new device that supports wireless transmission to iOS devices. It's called CamRanger.
I suspect more similar devices will follow that are compatible with more devices.
Maybe these new options will light a fire under the Eye-fi team to work more diligently to
produce their product for CF users as well as SD. I know a lot more CF users who would
purchase the Eye-Fi than I do SD users.

I have to tell you...

After speaking with a representative of Eye-Fi, he told me, "Even though the Eye-Fi card says Pro on it, it not really intended for the professional user." He also made the suggestion that I should look for alternative ways to get my pictures downlaoded and publicaly upload. Hmm. interesting.

So i say this, know that most of you 5D3 or 5D2 users would like to see a CF Eye-Fi card. I consider you 5D user to be of a professional nature, and well. the Eye-Fi card... is just a nice toy right now.

What is this I have read on this forum about using an SD to CF adapter in the D300, etc. and having it work just fine?
