folks, the thumbnails you are seeing post-account deletion (and re-registration) are stored on your local machine. you can login from a different machine if you want to confirm this. all server side thumbnails are cleared (for those sharing to a web destination), but we don't yet coordinate with the local Eye-Fi software instance to clear locally stored thumbs. it is on our list to improve this. makes sense?

Where is this thumbnail 'cache' located then?

I tried uninstalling eye-fi manager, removing the "EyeFi.log", "master.db" & "Settings.xml". but still the thumbnails are showing.

Search for a folder named thumbcache on your computer. On Mac OS X, this folder is under the Library/Eye-Fi folder in your home. On Windows, it is under the Application Data folder hierarchy, whose location differs depending on the exact version of Windows and whether or not Windows is configured for single-user or multi-user usage.

Upload History - date stamp fix

Postby markteicher » Sat Aug 23, 2008 8:08 am

I took pictures at a nightclub last evening that crossed into the next day, it appears that upload history dates when it uploads it to eye-fi, and smugmug, not when the picture is taken. The datestamp on the camera is set correctly.
I prefer the upload manager be date specific on when the pictures were taken, and then have a line on the front of the album (uploaded blah date), not use the upload date as the upload history album date.

Mark,

The option for this is found under the Setting's tab > Upload to Computer. You should see Photo Folder Options. That will allow you to select the subfolder created for the photos to be created by date of upload, or photo creation.

For Smugmug, when it shows the "Taken on" it's pulling the information from the photo. This information is not changed by the Eye-Fi Software.

If the dates are inaccurate on Smugmug, then you'll want to check the date/time settings on the camera.

on Vista, the appData directory contains the cache directory

Postby markteicher » Mon Sep 29, 2008 12:36 pm

With a default installation, the AppData directory contains the cache directory not the the path indicated in the previous post.

Or better yet, how about my photos don't show up on your the manager.eye.fi site at all, so I don't get the creepy feeling that your webmasters are looking at my photos?!

Hliles, if you have configured your card to be in 'local' only mode, then your thumbnails are not on Eye-Fi servers - they are only on your local machine. We use the browser to display this information, but it is being read from your computer. You can verify this by logging into http://manager.eye.fi from a different computer.

If you want to delete the local thumbnails, please look for a directory called thumbcache on your computer and delete the contents. On Mac OS X, this folder is under the Library/Eye-Fi folder in your home. On Windows, it is under the Application Data folder hierarchy, whose location differs depending on the exact version of Windows and whether or not Windows is configured for single-user or multi-user usage.

If you are also sending pictures to an online photo service, then yes those pictures go through the Eye-Fi servers so we can handle re-tries, etc.

I consider the abnormal length of time in your getting this much requsted feature fixed intolerable.
we, as users should NOT have go digging around library or app folders to get rid of our eye fi manager
thumbs. YOU SHOULD HAVE a simple software switch for this within the manager.
Every suggestion you all have posted for OS X has failed. i just tried deleting the thumbs as written
and now i have a manager with no thumbs BUT the empty shells that hold the thumbs with the old
filenames under the shell.
Shame on you guys for what I consider poor response to a continuing problem.

+1

I joined this forum to make a single post. What's the deal? Sure Eye-Fi caches them on their website, but I believe at some point the end user should be allowed to clear the website history.

I agree that it's idiotic not to have the ability to clear history. I have no intention of jumping through hoops, like deleting and recreating my account, just to get this done... Get with it Eye-Fi.

Currently the only way to do this is to remove the corresponding Eye-Fi Card from your account and re-add it. If you have only one Eye-Fi Card in your account, this would also entail deleting and recreating your entire Eye-Fi account. In both cases, the entire upload history of the corresponding Eye-Fi Card would be flushed from our servers, including the thumbnail images.

Eye-fi has posted this several times, I have XP, single user, and there is no such file anywhere that I can see, come on give us some exact information on this issue, This is obviously a concern with the users including myself. Please provide a use with something that corrects this issue.

Re: Clearing Upload History?

Postby tkimbrough » Wed Jul 22, 2009 11:15 am

The solution I use is pretty simple. I've added 1 folder and 1 file to CCleaner. I'm using Vista 64 and have found that "\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Eye-Fi\cache\thumbnail" is the repository for thumbnails. I clear this folder and the thumbnail images disappear from Eye-Fi Manager. I then delete the file "master.db" under "\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Eye-Fi". This removes the links to the thumbnails in Manager. And if I want to get really detailed, I edit the "Settings.xml" and change <ReceivedCounter> to 0, which will reset the files received in Eye-Fi Manager. Be careful if you edit the xml since this also holds your Sync keys. I haven't messed with them but I can imagine that you would need to start all over with an install if you lose these. Hope this helps.

In the 2.6 version of the Eye-Fi Manager software, we added a feature that will clear your upload history(delete the thumbnails) in your Eye-Fi account.

make sure you have the Eye-Fi Manager software version 2.6.0 or newer

Log in to your Eye-Fi Manager account
Click on the Upload History icon
To the top right, underneath the Logout link, you should see

Clicking on it will delete ALL of the thumbnails that are shown in the Eye-Fi Manager for that card.
