Multiple Photo Service selection

Postby aplrocks » Wed Aug 20, 2008 1:36 pm

I would like to be able to select multiple Photo Service to send my pictures to. For example I could select dotPhoto and Facebook. Does anyone know if this is currently possible?

This is currently not supported. The card will only upload to one selected online photo sharing site at a time.

This is definately a service I'd pay for (hopefully nominally!) as I typically need to upload to 2 online photo sites for the pictures I take.

I only know how to do it with Mobile me and one other photo service. Is that good enough?

That's why it's in feature requests ;)

This is almost essential,
the point of Eye-Fi is to provide effortless uploading,
and being able to upload to multiple points goes hand in hand with that.

Definitely want this feature a LOT

are you looking for two computers, then, or do you each maintain separate photo service accounts and you'd like a copy in each?

We have multiple computers, so multi-computers/multi-online services would be ideal, but I could live with single-computer/multi-online services. I could use some other program to move them around our computers.

I'd love to have this feature as well - I want to put pictures on Facebook for sharing, and Flickr and/or Picasa for mapping.

Maybe Eye-Fi can just add posterous.com to the upload sites (or an email option, which I could just forward to posterous)? Posterous can automatically re-post anything to flickr, wordpress blogs, facebook, and a few others.

for more info.

I agree this would be huge. I was disappointed after just setting up my card to figure out I could only upload to one site. I'd like to upload to a photo printing site like RitzPix AND my personal site using ftp. That would save me tons of time.

Bump. This would be incredibly useful: facebook automatically scales down pictures to a fairly small size, so it would be great to be able to simul-post to facebook for sharing but also to flickr/picasa/etc for archiving.

Or, as several people noted, adding an aggregator like posterous or pixelpipe as an upload destination would also do the job if you don't want to implement this on your own servers. But please, pick one!

With the new desktop manager coming out, will existing eye-fi cards get this mutliple upload feature that's being rolled out with the new x2?

in a word, yes. it is an upgrade to the share service, it just happens to coincide with the release of X2.

note that "re-publishing" your content is a manual step - select content and select a destination profile - it is not an automatic upload to multiple destinations.

Why can't it be automatic? My parents aren't very computer literate, which is why I got them eye-fi. Their pictures automatically upload to Kodak so they can be viewed on their Kodak photo frame, and I'd like them to be uploaded to Flickr as well.

Requiring a manual step to send pictures to another destination doesn't seem any easier than dragging the photos to another photo uploader.

Not a long term solution, but if anyone uses Phanfare (http://www.phanfare.com/) , it's one button push to share to Facebook and Flickr (from web or actually even from iPhone), once Eye-Fi uploads them to your account. Still an extra step but just thought I'd pass it on...

I was just wondering when Eye Fi will be able to download to more than two photo destination sources. Right now I have photos automatically downloaded to my computer and Costco photos. But I would really like to be able to also have them downloaded to my facebook account (a third photo destination). Any idea when we will be able to download to three photo destinations instead of only two?

I have the X2 Pro, and it also can only upload to a single online service. Surely this can't be that difficult for you guys to solve? Please fix this issue? As others have mentioned, I'd like my photos uploaded to Facebook, but they get truncated there, so I'd like the full size official pic to be uploaded to PicasaWeb for storage. I would also love my photos to automatically be uploaded to my wife's Facebook account and my parents' digital photo frame. But lets start with just Facebook and Picassa -that would be a great start. Please folks, I just paid $149.99 for this (Pro XP 8GB card). I'm considering this issue basically a deal breaker because it's not clearly stated anywhere in your pre-sales info that you can only upload to a single online site at a time...

Thanks a lot

Bump!

There is a part of me that feels I was gypped when I payed about $50 bucks for a 4g card for my camera when, yes, it does automatically put my photos on my computer, but I can only add my photos to one place without me having to also add them else where. WTF? Please fix this without making me buy another card.

If you want to upload to multiple destinations look into PixelPipe. You can upload to your account there and then they handle passing the pics on to multiple destinations.

Upload photos, video, and audio files once through the Pixelpipe Media Gateway and distribute your content across over 100+ social networks, photo/video sites, blogs, and other online services.
