Do I need to pay for ATT hotspot access if Im a ATT customer

Postby BooDaddy on Thu Apr 08, 2010 8:35 pm

Hello all.
Looking at buying an Eye Pro X2 for my Nikon D5000. I have a question.
I am currently an ATT DSL customer, and I get free access to all of their hotspots across the us as part of my DSL package. Do I still need to subscribe to the Eye-fi hotspot annual fee if I already get ATT hotspot access for free on my DSL plan?

Thanks!

The card connects to AT&T hotspots in a different, device specific way, so you'll have to subscribe (after the first year) regardless of your status with AT&T. In case it helps, the Eye-Fi hotspot plan will also give you access at some non-AT&T locations in the US and abroad, and this footprint will be expanding over time.

how do I subscribe to AT&T hotspot access? I am an AT&T DSL customer as well, and I can log in to Starbucks wi-fi with my laptop for free using that password. So I have to do something to my eye-fi card, or will it automatically link to AT&T hotspots? I have checked the box to enable hotspot access.

if you checked the box, you should be all set. no need to use your AT&T DSL credentials for this.

But I've been having problems connecting to AT&T hotspots. Check my thread here

Looking further, I wonder if it also has something to do with this Post by danchall » Thu May 14, 2009 5:05 pm
