Unable to delete *blank* network name

Postby ely105 » Fri May 14, 2010 5:38 pm

I tried searching for this but maybe i'm the only person to actually have made this happen.

I somehow created a network name on my Pro X2 card that has no name. It has a check box and the check box is selectable. But of course if you click remove it acts like it's "working" but the network is still there. I tried deleting all of the networks to see if that helps, but no. So i'm wondering if there is a way to re-initialize the card or somehow to delete the network list so I can start over with networks?

thanks.

Same issue here. Minor, but annoying.

hmm.. I can't say that we've seen that before. Is there a network (with a name!) that you added but is missing from the list? Did either of you add any unusual networks, e.g. hidden SSID or otherwise?

I've got exactly the same issue! It has been driving me mildly crazy and I figured I was the only one who had this!

If I recall correctly, the "blank" network appeared after I tried to add an out-of-range network, then decided to delete it and start over. It was a normal network, no hidden SSID or anything. Everything seemed normal after I deleted the network -- but then after I successfully added another, I found I had the "blank" network as well.

If anyone figures out how to exorcise this ghost network, I'd appreciate it! I have no way of checking, but speculate that it may be slowing down the Eye-Fi card's connection process because it has to go through the step of checking a network that isn't there.

I'm not sure there is a way to reset your card so that this 'blank' network name is removed unfortunately. I think some controls would be appropriate in Eye-Fi Center to ensure that empty 'Other Network' names are not allowed to be added in the first place.

I had hoped that this problem would be fixed with the recent Eye-Fi Center and (Pro X2) card firmware updates, but I'm still having the same issue. Any success from others? I've tried reformatting the card, uninstalling/reinstalling the Eye-Fi software, etc., with no luck.

Here's my info:
- Pro X2 8GB card, firmware version 4.2001 (hardware revision 1, from the card log)
- Canon S90
- Mac OS 10.6.4
- Eye-Fi Center 3.1.9, Eye-Fi Helper 3.1.9 (3.1)

I recently plugged in the card again, updated everything (software/firmware) to the latest version, and still have the blank network name that I can't remove.

New info:
- Pro X2 8GB card that I haven't used that much, firmware version 5.0008, hardware revision 1
- Canon S90
- Mac OS 10.7.4
- Eye-Fi Center 3.4.24. Eye-Fi Helper 3.4.26 (3.4)

Anyone else still having this problem, or better yet -- have a solution?
